Had DSL with AT&T and wanted to upgrade to a higher speed. Chatted with an online agent who provided me with a link to process my upgrade. When I asked the agent why I needed to provide a laundry list of information for a simple upgrade, the agent informed me that it's to ensure I'm the owner of the account. What ended up happening, however, was a new account was created, rather a simple upgrade to my current account. When I called Customer Service to have them straighten out the issue, no one knew what had happened and I was transferred to 4 different agents over a 1-hour span. When I thought things were straightened out, my internet connection went out that night. I called AT&T in the morning and was on the phone with them for 1.5 hours. Again, I was transferred to multiple representatives and even disconnected twice. And again, no one was able to help me straighten out the issue since they were not able to pull up one of my accounts, even when I provided them with ample information. Finally decided I had enough of their poor customer service and disconnected both accounts. AT&T's service is Not worth the stress or hassle!!! AT&T cares more about their number of customers than their quality of customer service.
