AT&T is the WORSE - AT&T DSL

When signed up about 5 years ago, they gave me this really old Silver modem, it actually caught on fire.They tend to give out cheap equipment at high prices. They also are awful at fixing any problems, called a tech awhile back, they wore up and down it was our modem, and since we got a new one from a tech off the truck she wouldn't honor the warranty, pleaded with this woman for a hour, got no where at all. So, we cancelled. It was off for not even half a day before the lower apartment had phone problems (same company), called them back, and explained this, they eventually sent out a tech that fixed the problem, which wasn't the modem. Two years ago they did some maintenance on the lines here and really screwed up our service, I had dial up that was faster. It took 2 months for them to fix this, frequent hour long calls to them. First it was our PC's, they were too old, (one was barely a year old at this time), second time, we couldn't have 2 PC's on the internet at once, even though we did before they did their maintenance. Third time, someone offered to increase our speed, turns out the tech couldn't even do that. Called back again, they finally admitted there was a issue they caused, and told us to get Uverse, we signed up for Uverse, but some how they cancelled it. Had them sign us up again. When calling again because they didn't install us, was informed that we don't even have Uverse in my area, tech said we never should had been offered that in the first place and that was why no one ever came out, He put us back on our old DSL and bumped the speed, that worked great. 3 months later, we get bills for 2 Uverse accounts, they never closed them. They only took one off, we are forced to pay the other one because they "sent out" a modem. We never got a modem at all! I have never experienced such awful service, EVER. They like to hang up on customers, lie to them, I had one admit they lie to get customers off the phone quicker, each tech issue I have is always my modem, and I no longer trust them to not squeeze more money out of me. I had one rep refuse to allow me to cancel account, I have had numerous billing issues from them, which turned into a 5 month cycle of just over charges. The wait times for help are awful, then when you get someone, they are of no help. I felt like I am better off trouble shooting my own internet than calling the company who provides it. I have had dial up in the past and NEVER had these issues with those companies. I dread having to deal with them, At this point, I am very tempted to go without internet, this company is defiantly not worth the stress and hassle for mediocre speed. Only recommend to someone if you ABSOLUTELY HATE them.
